For
Adaptive Youth Sailors
There are two programs, adaptive equipment is provided to those with physical
challenges and adaptive instruction is tailored to children with cognitive
challenges:
Summer Youth Sailing (SYS) program:
for children ages 10-17, students will be integrated
into the program with
their same-age peers to learn basic
sailing skills. The program is absolutely free for
all youth sailors and gives children the opportunity
not only to learn to sail but to meet new friends and
enjoy the youth program's weekly island trips.
The Harbor Explorer program: for children
ages 7-14, students will be integrated into the program
with their
same-age peers to learn about harbor
ecology. Students will spend time at the harbors edge
with the Save the Harbor/Save the Bay organization
catching wildlife and learning the importance of preserving
the environment.
