Introduction to Sailing Not sure if sailing is for you? Try our introductory class. You’ll learn about the sport and go out into the harbor with an experienced instructor. The cost of this class can be applied fully towards the full Learn to Sail course. Cost: $85
Learn to Sail For new sailors this series of seven 3 hour classes (21 hours) will teach you the fundamentals of keelboat sailing and allow you to safely operate a 23 foot sailboat in Boston Harbor. Inclusive in the course is the Basic Keelboat student instruction book and a U.S. Sailing Basic Keelboat Student Certification. Cost: $635
Refresher Course This is a condensed course designed to quickly review all the fundamental elements of keelboat sailing. It is intended for sailors who have had some experience but would like a review before their checkout evaluation. It is taught in two, 3 hour sessions. Cost: $225
Navigation Course In a classroom setting, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of basic coastal navigation. Topics will include chart reading, dead reckoning, coordinate systems, running fix, set, drift and other topics. This class will help you get ready to explore the Harbor Islands and beyond. The course is taught in one four-hour lesson. Cost: $125
Advanced Sailing Course Through a 12 hour sailing/classroom session, over two days, you will be presented chart reading skills, practical piloting, advanced sail trim, and a variety of skills and techniques to utilize when the weather becomes challenging or the sailboat has mechanical problems. Additionally, you will practice docking techniques, overboard recovery, anchoring, and other useful outer harbor voyaging skills. Cost: $240
Spinnaker Sailing Clinic The clinic is designed to give students a working knowledge of spinnaker operation. Upon completion you will have the confidence to utilize the spinnaker sail, safely and efficiently. The clinic will be two 3 hour classes. Cost: $125
Private Lessons With a 2 hour minimum time period, a student will be taught any skill from beginning to advanced. Private instruction is best for those who seek specific instruction to achieve a particular sailing level or certification. Cost: $95/hour
